Let's see, let me refresh my mind a bit on what happened this week that threw me for a loop. OH, now this is a biggie.
Guess what my husband found in our downstairs bathroom. Usually this time of year, we get those pesky little flying ants coming in from somewhere, but that wasn't it. They must have made a detour this year and went to my neighbor's house or something.Besides, I'm not afraid of those things, a little spray takes them away. Let me say this much, I no longer feel safe and comfortable in my bathroom. It will be a long while before I take a long leisure bubble bath. Hey, to tell you how scared I was, I was going to the bathroom and leaving the door wide open in case I had to run. I am getting better now.....I just leave it cracked. LOL Let me give you a little hint....it's creepy.
My husband was taking a bath on Wednesday morning and he called me in there because he wanted to show me something. There he is standing by the sink with a red towel wrapped around him and he was pointing to the corner of the tub and the radiator. At first, I didn't see anything, but there on the floor all curled up was a SNAKE! Lord have mercy, I almost had a conniption right there. What the heck? So many questions ran through my mind as I ran back out and shut the door, leaving my husband in there to take care of the problem. He managed to capture it using a board, gloves, and the fireplace apparatus. He told me to come and look again, Crap, I didn't want to go back in that bathroom. Anyway, this time, there he was standing in front of the toilet trying to drown the thing. I was frantic, talk about a lunatic woman. I was screaming, cursing, No...you can't drown a snake! And why would he try to drown it in the toilet???????Good grief, all I could imagine was the thing coming back alive and swimming back up. Hey, we don't even know how it got in the bathroom in the first place, was it from the toilet, the window, the pipe coming from the radiator? So many questions and I still don't have the answers. I've never seen a snake in here before! Though a couple of years ago, my husband seen one in the backyard. I am already cautious of my backyard when it starts getting dark because of possums and raccoons. I will not go out there. One snake in the house makes me wonder what is really lurking outside now. I am so not liking this, because I had plans to get out there and do something with my garden, that I had plan to work on......but critters have me on the alert and not really feeling like playing around in the dirt.
WEll, if you are wondering what happened to the snake, I carried on so that my husband ended up putting it in a trash bag and he burned it up in the fire place. We had a fire gone when the temp was like 60 degrees. This is one time when I was not fussing about the fire place. That's another pet peeve of mine.....all because my husband seems to be addicted to it. I hate to see a bonfire in the fireplace....enough said.
Well, here it is Friday and I changed my furniture around. The Buffet is now sitting in front of the fire place. Whaaat? To keep my husband from using it now that the weather is getting nice, or to make sure that dead snake is dead and doesn't get out of there? I know one thing, I'm not cleaning that fireplace out! And I hope and pray that I do not see a snake in here ever again.
Hey, did you know the Cicadas are coming? I am seeing a lot of hole in our yard and I think they are coming from those things....though I haven't seen anything yet.....just something else to freak me out.
