After having published 11 books, I am happy to say that two of these books are listed on the 100 best sellers list on Amazon. com. But, the wow factor of all of this is...they've been there for two weeks now, as of today. Now how cool is that. The titles I am talking about are "A New Home for Her Cubs" and "Broken Voices." It is the e-book version that is on the chart, which shows that people are loving to read on their Kindles and evidently they are loving my books. With this being said, I want to thank all my new readers for purchasing one of my titles. I appreciate it. Now with that said, I hope you don't mind me asking you to please leave a review on Amazon about what you read. As an author, this part of the process is just as important as you buying the book. When you do this, it spreads the words to other potential readers and buyers.
I call these my sister books. Actually, this is the Broken Voice series, book 1 and 2. Follow the saga of Ella Rose in Broken Voices and in Bittersweet Dayz. Again, you will find them on Amazon.com as well as Barnes and Noble. Both titles come as print and e-book versions. So you have options. However, my personal taste is print, even though I do dabble in the Kindle thing myself as well. As a matter of fact, you should see all the books in my Kindle library. Just remember, from these two titles, "Broken Voices" Kindle version is on the 100 best seller list of Amazon....I love that online store.
Here it is Monday already, April 7th to be exact. So much has been going on with my books since last week. It makes my author heart feel so good. People are buying and reading my books. That makes me want to do a happy dance. Now, all I have to do is get them to leave a review or two on what they read. That would really be sweet, because reviews help entice other potential readers to take a look at the book. But guess what the news is, "A New Home for Her Cubs," has come out of hibernation. At one point, I was beginning to think that nobody was interested in this book. However, since last week, this book has been on Amazon's best seller list, proving that people are in deed reading this book and making it popular. I checked it's status on Amazon this morning, because I am getting into the habit of doing that and it is listed at #86 under the category of "exploring Africa." Kumani, is happy with this bit of news. She is still on the chart. I am not sure what is going on with my latest book, "Bittersweet Dayz" it was on the best seller list when it was first published on March 27th. But it seems to be at a stand still now, even though I keep promoting and pushing it on the social media sites everyday. But I believe it will jump back up into the ratings; after all, it is a fantastic book. Another book of mine, which is making a name for itself on Amazon is "Broken Voices." The Kindle e-book edition is staying up there on the best seller list too, coming in at #39 under the category of peer pressure. Just like "A New Home for Her Cubs" ebook, Broken Voices been in good standing since last week too. If you haven't picked up these titles for your Kindle yet, I hope you do so very soon. You can also pick these titles up as print books too. You have options when you want to engage in excellent, worthwhile reading for yourself and your children. Oh, and if by chance you are reading this blog and have read or reading any of these titles that are showing her; please take the time to leave a review on Amazon, or Barnes and Noble. If you got your copy from the iTunes store, leave a review there, if it is permitted. But of course, you can always leave a review here when responding to the post. My motto is, "the more the merrier." Join my book party.
Okay, so you want to do something a little more creative with the thought of Easter Baskets as you get yourself in gear for the holiday. Well, here is the solution. Why not add some books in there; nestle them in between the chocolate bunnies, jelly beans and colored eggs. These are just some of the titles you can choose from on Amazon for children and young adult reads; books that will touch the readers heart, soul and spirit. The stories will become all time favorites. Your readers will be entertained with fantasy, reality and even take an imaginative walk into the wilds of Africa. When they open the first page of any of these books, they will not be able to put the book down until they come to the end. They will be drawn into the pages of situations; some funny and some that are full of intrigue, suspense and wonder. Along Came Jelly-Beanz, Itchy Scratchy Spots, A New Home for Her Cubs, Spring Where Are You?, Bittersweet Dayz and Broken Voices are titles created by author Winona Rasheed. Two of the books listed here are also on the top 100 best seller list on Amazon. they are Broken Voices and A New Home for Her Cubs. Now don't you want your readers reading books from the best seller list? Just saying. One book on this list, is the latest published book, by author Winona Rasheed. "Bittersweet Dayz" is book 2 of the Broken Voices series, letting the Ella Rose story continue. This book is geared toward young adults. So, what are you waiting for? Fill those baskets with books to curb the appetite of the imagination while curbing the appetite of the sweet tooth....uh more books then candy; they won't be mad at ya. As a matter of fact.....they will thank you.
Get ready for some great reading around that Christmas tree. Books make great stocking stuffers for young readers and I believe a good book will last a life time and not just through the holiday season. After all, remember some of your favorite childhood storybooks? I bet the characters still dance around in your head. Well, it is time to get some new story ideas going on in your child's head, after all, it is almost 2014. Books not only come in paperback, but also electronic reading is very popular. Does your child have one of those electronic gadgets? So remember, when it comes to filling those stockings, or putting something special under that tree for the kiddies, remember books. Remember my titles while you are at it. Good books aren't hard to find on Amazon.com
Wow, can you believe it, the holidays are upon us, one down and the 2nd one will be here in just a few weeks? Hey, how did you do with the Black Friday shopping? You know what, I avoided that mad scene and just stayed home. The thought of being caught up in the middle of a mad house of over zealous people make my skin crawl. I can't stand it, even though I know a lot of people walked out of those stores with some fantastic deals. I am finding out more and more, I'd rather do online shopping around this time of year. I don't mind waiting for my packages to come in the mail. I get excited because it's like the UPS man is bringing me a present. LOL Who doesn't like presents?? I mentioned the holidays, well Thanksgiving is over and we had a great time at my house. Lots of food. I love cooking for special occasions. I think I get that from my parents, bless their souls. However, I just wore myself out and ended up taking a nap while company was here. I couldn't help it, I just climbed into the bed, pulled the covers up over me and was out like a light for a couple of hours. Was that wrong? No it wasn't because the company was my big family. They didn't mind if mom had to have a nap. I usually don't do that. My 60 something body must be going through some changes....hey did I say that? Ooops! I wonder what Christmas will bring. Oh yeah, I'm planning on cooking and preparing all over again. Hopefully I will skip the nap on December 25th. Speaking of Christmas, are you finish making out your shopping list of gifts? I hope you added some books to that list. A lot of people think that electronics make a great gift for kids and this is true, but don't forget the good old fashion gifts that never get out dated. You can keep turning the pages over and over again. Okay, you know what I am talking about now. Do not let your kids fall out of love with reading a good book. These things still exist in this modern world. But, if your child insist on an electronic gadget, get them one that will let them read books so they will always be ready to let their imagination soar. Since I mentioned books and since I am a children's author...Ho Ho Ho, now would be a good time to mention my titles that are on Amazon.com. Hey, you can order them online...now that is convenient. Broken Voices A New Home for Her Cubs Wohali and the Little People Itchy Scratchy Spots The Race is on! Along came Jelly-Beanz Author: Winona Rasheed
Gracie is here!! This is my new baby everyone, my new published book and it's all about Gracie in this story book. Don't you love the cover? Can't you just imagine this little girl's inquisitive nature? You should read about her through the pages of this book to find out how she thinks and what she does when the adults in her family talk weird. Gracie is full of wonder and dreams and she is also full of questions. One question in particular has her on the run to find the answers.
I can't tell you anymore than that about this book. But it is a good read for young people and the older generation too.....after all adults were once children, so you can probably relate to the theme behind this story too. I am proud of this book, because I did it my way! Right now you can purchase this book from Createspace e-book store. The paperback version will be on Amazon.com and Amazon Europe by the end of next week. You know I will be making that announcement when it happens. Wow, a new book for January 2013, I am starting the year out on the good foot.
Yesterday was Monday, January 21, 2013. Knowing that is the reason why I am writing in my blog today. Two special events were honored yesterday, some may look at it with detesting eyes, but others look at it with a humbled and hopeful heart. Now I am not much on politics and political mumbo jumbo, because to me politics do nothing but divide and causes arguments and head bashing. Politics is mean, depressing and quite frankly......it's confusing, downright mind boggling! It reminds me of football teams, basketball teams and boxing matches...those trying to get the fought after trophy and the status when the season is over. May the best team survive and take home the prize. Play hard and beat the pants off the opponents. Oh well, I am not going to go any deeper than that with this. But I think you see my point and I refuse to go there, after all, this blogger is about peace, love and harmony.
Yesterday, I sat in front of my TV and enjoyed watching the swearing in of the president on his second term. I was smiling from ear to ear. I didn't look at it from a political view, I looked at it from a human view and using my female eye. I enjoyed seeing a family united and standing together, supporting one another and the images to me were absolutely the best. A lot of confidence was shone when "the man of the hour" took his vows and gave his speeches. A lot of people will agree that he was on track and on time, but then again a lot of people will disagree. But, we are not going to go there. This is not the place to scratch eyes out because of opinions and viewpoints. Right before the president went to his luncheon, when he stopped to take one last look at the massive crowd supporting him, he looked like a very humbled and an appreciative man. He looked thankful. And I have to say, he looked blessed to be where he was standing. He knows the burden he carries as he leads this country. But, enough of that, for we all know his journey will not be an easy one. But, if God is on his side at that very moment, He will also be by his side for the next four years and thereafter too. I believe that!
Back to yesterday....another event that I enjoyed watching was the walk and wave during the parade. That's what I call it. The Obamas' didn't create this, this part of the parade has been going on forever and I always enjoyed seeing it. It tickled me to see the Vice President out and about scurrying around shaking hands and then running to get back to where he was suppose to be. To me, it just showed that he was involved with the people, even on that cold day. Now, I am going to wind this down. The events taking place all weekend in DC showed the anticipation of the public for January 21st. No, I did not participate. My problem is I can't go for massive crowds and bitter cold. If I were a president's wife, or even the president and this is not one of my dreams...I'd have to have this celebration in the spring or summer. I'd change the date of the whole inauguration and it would not be held in January, regardless of tradition. Besides, I'd get nervous with all eyes on me. My knees would be trembling when I made my entrance in a stunning dress to meet my president/husband on the dance floor. I'd be smiling, but I'd probably be beet red and hands sweating. That would make me nervous. Nah, I couldn't be the one to put on an entertaining show for you. I couldn't even sit behind a piano and play and sing like Alicia Keys or Stevie Wonder did. I'd have to be in the background, out of site to maintain my composure. See, I am just a simple person, down to earth. I get pleasure in seeing others in that position and enjoying it. However, it doesn't necessarily have to be me. This is one thing I do not pray for. I really enjoyed seeing the first lady in her stunning red ball gown. It was gorgeous, and no, I do not think about how much was spent on it. I am not even thinking about the cost of this entire shabang. But someone out there will rip apart that segment of the event. Just like today, the event of yesterday will be analyzed, criticized, and the speeches torn apart as people nit pick and disagree on what was said. Me personally, I'm not going to give my time to any of that. Burst my bubble, you will not! Now I did not intend to write a book in this blog. I just wanted to give my thoughts on yesterday as we prepare for today and tomorrow. So with that. I think I've said it all. It's a new day and a new beginning. May God bless our president and his family. May this next four years bring America together and let us unite like we do on Facebook. Hummm, did I just say that???????
